The Green Wings Eco-Aviator Award!

Green Wings is dedicated to caring for the environment and our volunteers.

This year Green Wings is offering its first scholarship to Eco-Aviators who are making a difference in their Aviation Community or with the Green Wings Ambassador Program.

Examples of making a difference Include;

  • Tracking Reusable Water Bottle Refills

  • Cleaning up a local Park and weighing the trash collected

  • Organizing and/or attending a Green Wings Clean Up

  • Logging the amount of you recycle each flight

  • Documenting personal waste or carbon footprint reduction

  • Tracking your fuel savings per flight with conservation practices like, descent optimization, single engine taxi and limiting APU use.

  • Planning and Participating in the 2024 Spring Clean Up

2024 Award(s) will be in the amount of $2,500 per winner!

An active Green Wings membership is required to apply.

Eligibility:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age

  2. Must be an Active Green Wings Member and complete the required application.

  3. Flight School Student enrolled in a United States based flight school or;

  4. Aviation Major currently enrolled in Associate or higher degree program in Aviation or related field of study at a United States Educational Institution or; 

  5. Environmental Student, currently enrolled in Associate or higher degree program in Environmental Studies/Sustainability or related field at a United States Educational Institution

  6. Applicants must provide complete 3rd Party Distribution Contact Information on application for funds to be distributed for tuition or project funding.

Winners are selected by the Green Wings Board of Directors and announced on April 22nd, 2025.

Award(s) will be $2,500. An unlimited amount of awards can be made based on Green Wings Fundraising. Number of awards will be finalized and published by April 20th, 2025, 1600 Pacific Time.

Payments for the 2023 Award(s) will occur no later than May 31st, 2024.
